Many Iraqi students go to northern cities such as Mosul and Kirkuk to resume their education due to ongoing violence in central and southern Iraq. However, they need help with accommodation because they cannot afford it on their own.

To escape civil war and resume their education 5,000 university students have fled from violence-hit provinces of Baghdad, Diyala and Anbar to northern cities of Mosul and Kirkuk. The most serious problem facing these students is accommodation. A project will be carried out to turn certain viable buildings in these cities into dormitories in order to provide impoverished students with accommodation facilities.
