
1- Creating resources and donations
Within the information and working principles of the IHH, volunteers can work to increase donations for the foundation and help creating resources for the aid efforts. They can organize a variety of organizations to this effect from manufacturing of handmade products to collecting funds. (For instance, holding project promotion programs, fund-raising events, organizations and campaigns to collect funds for aid projects.)
2- Emergency aid and disaster services
Volunteers can take part in emergency relief efforts in crisis times caused by wars, occupations, clashes, natural disasters, dangerous and epidemic diseases, big fires, radiation emission and air pollution. They can support preparations for post-disaster relief, take part in search and rescue efforts or field work or crisis-management efforts in the crisis-hit region as well as supporting rehabilitation, monitoring, evaluation and report-preparation efforts in the post-disaster period. (such as search and rescue efforts, delivery of health services, establishment and running of tent cities and distribution of aid supplies.
3- Health services
Volunteer medics can take part in our all activities being mainly in those during crisis periods. They can treat patients particularly in crisis times, offer medical screenings and treatment to people, they can support the IHH’s cataract project which is implemented on a wide geography and they can help the solution of the health problems of the orphans and refugees in line with their specific area of profession.
4- Psychological support and social services
Volunteers of psychosocial service can take part in the activities particularly in crisis-hit regions. They can provide psychosocial support to individuals such as orphans, widows, refugees, the ill and the old. Volunteers of psychosocial service can also take part in the listing of the needy people who will be supported by the IHH, maintenance and delivery of aid supplies for them as well as working in orphanages and refugee camps.
5- Media, promotion and public relations
Volunteers of media, promotion and public relations can work to promote the IHH’s relief efforts in the international and local media, so they can make contribution to the spread of the good and justice. The volunteers can make the IHH’s institutional promotion and introduce the foundation’s aid campaigns and projects to the public in the organizations they will hold, they can increase support for the IHH’s aid projects by promoting the IHH’s activities thanks to the media or face-to-face communication with individuals.
6- Project development and implementation services
The IHH needs the support of the volunteers to offer services in both Turkey and various parts of the world and to increase the number of these services and spread them. In this regard, volunteer projects to collect aid and activities for their implementation are of crucial importance and welcomed.
7- Internet volunteers
Internet volunteers can support the IHH’s activities in the virtual media through various means. (Such as spreading the IHH’s banners, introducing its web-site, promoting the IHH’s campaigns and projects in e-groups and other venues in the Internet and supporting other online activities etc.)
8- Education services
Volunteers can serve as education volunteers in all activities of the IHH on condition that they received the relevant education.
9- Supportive services
Except for the areas of service mentioned above, IHH volunteers can work for the supportive services
a) Counseling: Volunteers who are experts in counseling can support our activities by sharing their guiding views with us regarding our services and projects
b) Translation: Volunteers who are experts in translation can support our activities by helping us with written and oral translation in all the activities and the projects of the IHH that require translation.
c) Office services: Volunteers who take part in the office work can support the professionals at the office in case of a need.
d) Technical services: Volunteers who have expertise in technical maintenance can support us regarding technical issues such as preparation of computer programs, engineering, graphical design, repair and maintenance.
e) Logistical support services: Volunteers can support us by providing a venue for our activities or by providing vehicles, cameras, video cameras etc.
