Gaza is waiting for help

Around 60 percent of Gaza residents are living below the poverty line and thousands are homeless owing to the ongoing embargo. Dwellers of the four thousand buildings that were destroyed in Israel’s Operation Cast Lead are still living in tents or with their relatives, because the entry of construction materials into the region is not allowed. Basic and most needed medications are restricted from entering Gaza. Many patients die from lack of medication and medical supplies or remain crippled as a result of restrictions under the embargo. Daily life has stalled in Gaza where even the most basic necessities cannot be met. Humanitarian supplies will start to enter Gaza as Rafah border has been opened. However, naval blockade on the area is in place. The Freedom Flotilla II is sailing at the end of June to take relief supplies to Gaza, break the naval blockade and liberate the region.

Tones of aid materials collected worldwide in civilian initiatives wait for the day to be taken to Palestine, while international humanitarian front against Israel continues to expand. Thousands of volunteers across the world are working for the success of this global solidarity movement. Coordinating the Turkish leg of the organization, the IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation is carrying out all required humanitarian, legal, technical and political procedures to ensure secure voyage of a passenger and a cargo vessel from Turkey to Gaza.

We urge you to help the Palestinian people become self-sufficient. You can contribute to tons of relief supplies to be taken to Gaza and support this flotilla that has become a common voice for concerned people around the world.
