IHH delivers winter relief to Bosnia-Herzegovina
There is a harsh winter in Bosnia-Herzegovina just like in European countries. Almost 300 village roads were blocked in the country while phone service in 10 villages has been paralyzed due to snow. In cooperation with its partner in the country, the UDF-Emmaus, IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation has delivered winter relief to villages in the surroundings of Srebrenica which became inaccessible due to snowfall.
People of Srebrenica who underwent great pains during years of the War of Bosnia are now battling against harsh winter circumstances. Snow level in some areas has reached two meters, blocking village roads and making it difficult for villagers to find food. Emergency aid packages prepared by the IHH were delivered to people in villages which became inaccessible due to heavy snow.
Despite harsh winter circumstances, IHH teams delivered aid in Krusev Do and Luka in particular, which are known as mountain villages. Food packages which include basic food items such as rice, salt, dried beans, pasta, cooking oil, sugar, tuna fish, bottled food, flour and instant soup were taken to the homes of the villagers.
