Search and rescue teams affiliated with the IHH Disaster Management Directorate participated in 231 search and rescue operations in 2023.

The High-Altitude Search and Rescue team of the IHH Disaster Management Department performed a 20-day climb up the 7.134m Ibni Sina Peak (Peak Lenin). This climb also went down in history as the first high-altitude climb by a Turkish Search and Rescue team.

To date, IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation teams are still in Haiti following the earthquake that hit the country. They conducted aid projects, delivered food and hygiene packets to 1.125 families. Our teams also met Haitian President Ariel Henry and inspected disaster-hit spots in the country.

After the earthquake that struck Izmir on 30 October, IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation deployed its Search and Rescue teams with 459 volunteers from 33 cities.

IHH Disaster Management Teams that mobilized immediately after the earthquake in Izmir are still helping the victims on the 3rd day of the earthquake. Our Search and Rescue Team looked for survivors, and the others worked to heal the wounds of the victims.

In the wake of the Giresun flood, IHH is conducting its Search and Rescue operations with a team of 60 members.

In the wake of the flood that occurred in Giresun, IHH took immediate action and initially deployed its Search and Rescue team of 40. The distribution of hot soup began immediately.

IHH’s Disaster and Emergency Services Unit’s 3rd national exercises in Bolu were completed with the participation of 500 search and rescue technicians from 45 cities.

IHH took action to help the people in the wake of the explosion that occurred in Beirut, Lebanon. IHH teams assist in transporting those who died and injured around the port to hospitals. IHH also began to deliver food aid to those who were left homeless.

IHH Istanbul Search and Rescue Off-Road Volunteer team distributed food and hygiene packets to 300 families in need.

Throughout 2019, IHH Search and Rescue teams, together with 1.905 volunteers, carried out search and rescue missions as well as trainings to prepare them to face potential disasters.
