Gazan martyr’s children entrusted to IHH
IHH began to provide support to the 5 orphaned children of Fadi Abu Salah, who was martyred by Zionist Israel military forces in Palestine during the Great March of Return, by including them in the Orphan Sponsorship System.
Palestine, Palestine-Gaza 29.06.2018

The humanitarian crisis in the Gazan Strip that has been under Israeli blockade all over Palestine since the establishment of Zionist Israel, and particularly since 2006, is continuing. IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation is resuming aid efforts in the region on a continuous basis. In this context, IHH Gaza Agency assumed the duty of supporting the 5 orphaned children of martyr Fadi Abu Salah who was killed by the “murderers” Israeli soldiers in incidents that occurred after USA’s so called embassy was moved to Al-Quds. IHH will be supporting and protecting these orphans as a part of the Orphan Sponsorship System.

Fadi Abu Salah was martyred during protests against the American embassy moving to Al-Quds, and marking the 70th anniversary of the Nakba (great catastrophe), held at the Israeli border in the east of the Gazan Han Yunus city on Thursday May 14, by Israeli forces on the other side of the border, and became the symbol of the Palestinian resistance. Abu Salah, who lost both his legs in an Israeli bombardment 4 years earlier, was confined to a wheelchair since 2014. Salah, who despite being disabled continued to defend his homeland, related the Palestinian cause fearlessly.

Fadi Abu Salah’s wife, Amina Abu Salah who explained that she attended the peace protests at the Gazan border almost every day since 30 March with her disabled husband and five children, said “It was as if he knew he was going to be martyred…He told me to look after our children then he left. He was carried back on the people’s shoulders.” Amina explained her husband’s cause with the words “Fadi wanted to show our loyalty to our homeland, our nation and Al-Quds to the occupational forces, and give the massage that we would sacrifice our lives for the Masjid Al-Aqsa to the enemy.”

Fadi’s mother, Intisar Abu Salah explained sadly that her son lived in Abasan, a town on the border that was attacked by the Israelis, and that her son lost both his legs by a missile fired from a drone. His elderly mother Intisar said “When he was hit by the missile, we thought he was dead, but he lived by the favor of Allah.” His mother, who explained that they had a good family life said “He departed from us leaving behind a beautiful reminder. He left 5 beautiful children to ease to pain of his martyrdom.”
