A mosque has been built in Muangani village of Zanzibar by IHH who also handed out 20.000 copies of the Holy Quran in Tanzania, one of the poorest countries in Africa. 4.000 people benefit from the mosque, named Rabia Aytul, Safiye, Binnur, Sureyya Altunok.

The mosque, built on an area of 208 meter squares, also has a fountain in its courtyard, toilets and bathrooms in addition to the spacious garden built for the locals to wander around in.

Local officials and people from the general public have attended the opening ceremony of the mosque. The first prayer in the mosque was performed altogether following the opening speeches. After the noon prayer, the attendants prayed altogether for those who contributed in the project of building the mosque.

People of Muangani Village, as it is a newly formed settlement, were seriously in need of a place for worship. Thanks to the mosque project, the locals have now access to a venue for their common prayers. The mosque will also serve as a center for cultural and religious activities. Following each prayer, religious knowledge meetings will be held. The Muslims of the village will be provided with information on basic religious matters. Also Holy Quran recitation classes will be opened for the children of the village.
