The opening of water wells in Kofale, Woreda, Keballa and Tullicha Qore regions led to a big joy among the locals. Nine of the recently opened wells were opened thanks to donations from the Research and Culture Foundation. Rest of the wells was opened thanks to donations from several benefactors, Milli Gazete and Gülteks. Thousands of people will benefit from the water wells which bear names such as Şükür, Genç Öncüler, Umran, Pınar, Mualla, Fehime Türk Bayburtlu, Milli Gazete, Gülteks, Beyazgül, Gülder and Çamoluk.

The locals who attended the inauguration ceremonies with jerry cans in their hands said: “For years, we have been making big efforts to have water. We offer our sincere thanks to everyone who contributed to the opening of water wells in our region.”

Praying for the benefactors and the IHH, the locals said they were very happy about Turks, whom they see as the grandchildren of the Ottoman, to extend a helping hand to them. There is ongoing work in the region for opening of more water wells.
