Africa, Somalia 16.12.2011

Somalia, where thousands of people have lost their lives due to drought, is just trying to recover thanks to the efforts of aid organizations. IHH carries out work in various fields from agriculture to animal catering, for schools and arts centers to ensure that Somali people can stand on their own two feet. The recently-inaugurated school and mosque in the country will provide education to 450 students, both girls and boys, throughout the day.  The complex is established on an area of 200 square-meters. The mosque in the complex has a capacity of 150 people.

It has been reported that there is a big demand from the locals for the school, located in Cavvil town of Hiran region, and students have already been enrolled for six of the classes. The school is currently a primary school but there are plans to offer education for secondary school students at the school in the future.
