In Tala, which is located in a rural part of Nairobi, there was not a mosque where Muslims could pray together and also a school where children can receive education. IHH teams which went to the region in 2011 saw these problems in the region and launched a project for the construction of a mosque on an area of 225 square-meters and a school with four classrooms adjacent to the mosque.
The project was launched thanks to support from Ms. Sümer Günay, one of the IHH donators, at the end of 2011. The official inauguration of the school and the mosque was made on June 17, 2013. Muslims in Tala village will be able to pray altogether in the newly-constructed village from now on. The children of the village who used to go to schools in other villages will be able to receive education in their own village now.
