Meeting with orphans in Somalia
IHH teams brought the festive air of Orphan Solidarity Days to Somalia.

Humanitarian aid teams visited Somalia in conjunction with Orphan Solidarity Days organized annually by IHH. The team has carried out a host of activities for orphans and their families.

IHH team organized an entertaining programme for the Somalian orphans and watched the staged performances they have prepared. 300 orphans, their families and local dignitaries attended the programme.

The aid team is carrying out sustainable projects for the orphans’ families. To this end, 20 sewing machines we distributed to the families. Moreover, the families who earn their living with livestock received cattle and chickens.

As a part of the aid projects dozens of animals were slaughtered for the meat distribution to the families. The purchase of animals was funded by the donations of Turkish people and the meat were delivered to the needy and poor.

After a 4-day-visit full of activities done with Somalian orphans IHH team returned to Turkey.
